Ensuring your trailer is in peak shape before transporting your equine is always the first step.

You should clean your trailer after every use, including rubber mats should be cleaned. This will give you the opportunity to check for any holes and rust spots, or any rotting portions if you have a wood floor.

Before you load up always make sure you check your trailer for bees and remove any moldy hay.

Practicing loading and trailing with your equine will ensure that you have a easy time loading your equine when it is time to travel.

When traveling if you are tying your equine ensure that they are secured with a rope or strap that is equipped a quick release snap, that will allow you to release your horse incase of a emergency.

Before you pull out of your driveway, set your parking brake and walk completely around your rig one more time to make sure doors and windows are latched and everything is as it should be. Do this again every time you stop for fuel or to take a break.
